Compare EditWise
with the tools you
already run
We rarely lose an owner to another product. We lose them to the tools they already run, or to changing nothing. So start there: EditWise vs your current stack puts the tools you pay for today next to one system, with dated prices.
If you are weighing a named tool, its page is below, with a paragraph on who should choose it instead of us.
Last verified: each comparison carries its own dates, from 19 August to 16 September 2026.
Six comparisons,
one honest line each.
Every line says who the other option suits, not only who we suit. Each page carries the full table, row by row, with a source and a date on every rival fact.
| Comparison | Choose it if | Choose EditWise if | Last verified | Rival’s own page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EditWise vs your current stack | Nothing is breaking yet, your team knows its tools, and some of them cost little or nothing | You have become the link between your tools, and rounds, invoices or client profit slip through the gaps | 16 September 2026 (Frame.io and Productive prices) | frame.io/ |
| EditWise vs Frame.io | Your team is under 15 people, review is the only thing that is broken, and your editors live in Premiere and After Effects | You need the requests, rounds, invoices and profit around the review | 16 September 2026 (prices); 19 August 2026 (features) | frame.io/ |
| EditWise vs Timeliner | You run a video team that wants to start alone today, with a 14-day free trial, at a lower price | You want the invoice and client profit in the same place, built for you before you decide | 16 September 2026 (prices); 19 August 2026 (plan contents) | timeliner.io/ |
| EditWise vs Workamajig | You run a larger agency that wants one full platform and can run a two to three month implementation | You want your workspace built before you decide, starting from five seats | 19 August 2026 (price and scores); 20 August 2026 (implementation) | workamajig.com/ |
| EditWise vs Filestage | Review and approval are your only problem, and data residency options matter | You want review joined to rounds, invoices and profit, on one bill | 19 and 20 August 2026 | filestage.io/ |
| EditWise vs Ziflow | You run a marketing or in-house team with complex approval chains, a need for SCIM user provisioning or two-factor sign-in, and no need for invoicing | You bill clients for approved work and need review joined to the money | 20 August 2026 | ziflow.com/ |

Seven tools, ranked
on published criteria.
Best client review and approval software ranks seven tools, EditWise included, on five criteria: the nine steps of client work, file types, a money layer, who sets it up, and published prices. EditWise publishes that list, and it says so at the top.
Best client review and approval softwareHow we write these pages.
-
Every rival fact comes from the rival’s own public page, or from a named review site for scores, with the date we checked it.
-
Names in text, never logos.
-
Every page has a paragraph on who should choose the other tool, and we mean it.
-
Where a rival costs less, the page says so, with the number.
-
The year in a title and the dates on a page change only when we re-check the facts.
-
If something has changed, email marko@editwise.io and we will correct it.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no page for the tool I use?
We publish a comparison only when we hold dated facts from the rival’s own pages. Productive, for example, appears on EditWise vs your current stack, as the money tool in the sum. If you want your tool compared, tell us on the call.
Who writes these pages?
EditWise does. That is why every rival fact carries a date and a link, and why every page says who should choose the other tool.
Is EditWise ever the cheaper option on these pages?
We do not claim to be. Timeliner costs less at both sizes we checked, 10 and 20 people (prices checked 16 September 2026). Frame.io costs less for review alone (checked 16 September 2026). At 10 people, the Frame.io Team and Productive Professional pair (checked 16 September 2026) and Workamajig (checked 19 August 2026) each cost $490 a month, the same as EditWise’s $490. Prices exclude applicable tax.
What are the alternatives to EditWise?
The main alternatives to EditWise are the tools a firm already runs, the review tools Frame.io, Filestage and Ziflow, the video team platform Timeliner, and the agency management platform Workamajig (facts checked 19 August to 16 September 2026). The review tools stop at approval and have no billing. Timeliner covers request to approval and does not produce invoices. Workamajig includes review and invoicing and implements over two to three months after purchase. EditWise joins client review to revision rounds, invoices and per-client profit, and builds the workspace before the buyer decides. EditWise produces the commercial invoice that carries the line-item record of what was delivered and what was approved, and you file it through your own compliant system.
