Changelog

Same price in year two,
plus everything on this page.

You know the pattern. You ask a vendor for something, and two years later you are still asking, while the renewal price goes up. This page is how you check that it goes differently here. Every release gets an entry with the date it shipped. Anything we name before it ships carries its launch date, and moves to shipped only when it is live.

Year one you buy the install and the platform; year two you buy the platform at the same price, plus everything shipped since.

“Live” means you can use it today. Nothing
here carries a date we have not committed to.

  • Live

Live. It has shipped. You can use it today.

  • Launches, with a date

Launches, with a date. Used only when engineering has committed to that date, and only until the day it ships.

  • No date

No date. Anything we plan but have not committed to a day stays undated. We would rather give you no date than a date we miss.

Version 1.1

Version 1.1: the gaps agency
owners asked us to close.

Every item in this release closes a gap an agency owner asked us to close, or removes friction. Nothing is in it to look impressive.

Review for PDFs and text documents, in the same room as video and images.

Live

Your client opens a PDF or a script from the same kind of link they use for a video, with no account. They select text and comment on it, draw on the page and reply in threads. Any comment can become a revision, exactly as on a video, and version history works the same way.

Example workspace: a client's view of a document review, with a comment on a highlighted sentence, an area marked on the page and a new comment being written for page 2.
Example workspace

The priced revision round, end to end.

Live

You set the number of included rounds per client agreement or per project. Your client sees “Round 2 of 3” before they comment. If a round goes past what you agreed, they see its price before they send. With their yes, it becomes a line on your next invoice at the agreed rate, and nothing is added without it. EditWise produces the commercial invoice that carries the line-item record of what was delivered and what was approved, and you file it through your own compliant system.

Example workspace: the client's round counter at Round 3 of 3, marked last included, above the notes.
Example workspace

A public request form.

Live

Publish a request form at a public link and put it on your website or in a chat. A new client fills it in without an account. It lands in your queue as a request with their details. Accept it and EditWise creates the client record, or attaches the request to one you already have. On our sales calls, agency owners asked for this more than for anything else we did not have yet.

Example workspace: the public request form as a new client sees it, titled Tell us about the work, asking for a name, an email and what they want made.
Example workspace
  • Neutral wording on everything your client sees.

    Live

The portal, review links, notification emails and request forms no longer say “video” unless you do. Your request button carries the name you gave your form. Your client sees your brand, not ours.

  • Rate limits and spam protection on every public page.

    Live

The review room, the sign-in pages and the public request form now turn away floods of requests with a clear message instead of an error. The request form also blocks spam.

  • Four more channel types in the communication log.

    Live

Log a client conversation as WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS or Viber, next to email, phone, meeting, video call and in person. They are labels on a conversation you record. EditWise does not send or read your messages.

  • Older versions move to cold storage on their own.

    Live

When a new version of a file goes up, the version before it moves to cold storage automatically. There is nothing for you to do.

Smaller changes in the same release

  • Search the whole workspace from one box.

    Live
  • Duplicate a project, an invoice, a role, a template or a client’s previous request.

    Live
  • Preview any role, or preview as a client, and see exactly what they will see before you invite them.

    Live
  • Save an invoice as a draft.

    Live
  • A recycle bin on Files. Deleted files stay recoverable for 30 days.

Version 1.0

Version 1.0 went live
on 1 October 2025.

The first public release. It carried every feature the founder’s own video agency needed, and no opinion about which ones yours needed. Opening it felt like being handed a cockpit. Version 1.1 is our answer to that: we switch off what you do not use, and we build your workspace for you before you decide.

Next on the list. No dates until
engineering commits to one.

  • Project archive. Closed projects move to cold storage on their own, and you can still open them.

    No date
  • Approval as a signed record. One approval locks the version and records who approved it, with the date and time.

    No date

When one of these ships, it moves up into the log with its date.

Year two costs the
same as year one.
This page is what
you get on top.

Year one you buy the install and the platform; year two you buy the platform at the same price, plus everything shipped since. The prices, the seat rules and what is included are on Pricing.

What has EditWise
shipped, and when?

EditWise version 1.0 went live on 1 October 2025, and version 1.1 shipped on 1 November 2026. Version 1.1 added review for PDFs and text documents in the same room as video and images. It added the priced revision round, where the client sees the round count and the price of an extra round before they send. It also added a public request form, neutral wording on everything the client sees, rate limits and spam protection on public pages, WhatsApp, Instagram, SMS and Viber as communication log types, and automatic cold storage for older versions. Every EditWise release gets a dated entry on the changelog, and year two costs the same as year one, plus everything shipped since.
